Welcome Back Mrs. Cannon
|
Cortney Cannon is a lead preschool teacher at the YWCA Huron Kid’s
Zone Preschool. Cortney has ten years of experience as a teacher. She has
taught in classrooms ranging from toddler to third grade. She graduated with a Bachelor’s
Degree and a Michigan Teaching Certificate with an Early Childhood Endorsement
from Eastern Michigan University. She has a passion for teaching reading and is
finishing her Master’s Degree in Reading at EMU. She enjoys spending time with
her loving husband, Stephan, and her two wonderful daughters ,Micaya and
Corissa, who are ages five and three. Her teaching philosophy is that each
child is a unique individual who needs a secure, caring, and stimulating
atmosphere in which to grow and mature emotionally, intellectually, physically,
and socially. It is her desire as an educator to help students meet their
fullest potential in these areas by providing an environment that is safe,
supports risk-taking, and invites a sharing of ideas. She believes in learning
through play, hands-on experiences, and plenty of interaction with books, which
is evident when you walk into her preschool classroom. |

Meet our new teacher !
| |
My name is Jessica Kraft. I am a mother of two beautiful children. My daughter, Morgan is 3 and my son, Logan is
2. We like going to the park, taking
weekly trips to the library, going for bike rides, spending days at the Detroit
Zoo, and Greenfield Village. In the
summer, we also love boating, swimming, and camping. We have a golden retriever named Kobe and a
beta fish named fishy. I have spent the
last four years as a stay at home mom.
The opportunity to teach in this program was a good reason for me to
rejoin the work force.
I have a Bachelor of Science in
Elementary Education and History and spent seven years teaching preschool while
attending college. I have my Michigan
teaching license for Kindergarten through eighth grade and will be working
toward an Early Childhood certification as well. I am excited to prepare your children for
Kindergarten. It will be a lot of fun
getting to know everyone and learning something new every day.
