YWCA Summer Day Camp 2010

Welcome:

This is where you will find all the latest information you need for our up-coming summer 2010 programs.  We will post new information often to keep you informed.

This Year’s Camp Theme: All Things Made in Michigan!

Campers will learn the history of our beautiful state in a fun hands-on way!  Beginning back from where it all started, where we have been, and where we are going in the future.  Interesting topics include: a taste of home, the automotive industry & the production line, shipwrecks of the Great Lakes, the Underground Railroad in Michigan, and much more…

Here are some things to do in your own backyard right now as a family.  Click here: Pure Michigan

Possible Field Trips for Summer 2010:

Field trip suggestions are welcome and can be emailed to Laura

  Sponsor a Camper!

Do you usually make a non-profit donation each year?  Why not consider a program that you are a part of?  Donate to the YWCA summer scholarship fund.  Your donation helps sponsor a child to attend camp who otherwise would not be able to participate.  For more information and to receive a sponsorship form, please contact Laura by phone: 313-537-8500 or 734-284-9030 or email Laura

Double your Gift with Summer Dreams…
Each spring the Detroit News supports camps in and around the Metropolitan Detroit Community.  Each monetary donation received on behalf of the YWCA is matched by the Skillman Foundation.  This funding provides each of our camp programs the transportation needed to attend Camp Cavell, purchase camp supplies, snacks, and other much needed equipment.  Please keep us in mind this Spring when the program is announced!

2010 Need HELP with Camp this Summer?

  Share your Expertise!

Do you have an interesting job or hobby related to our summer theme: all things made in Michigan?  For example, do you have an interesting position within the automotive field, are you a farmer, or do you work in the salt mines?  We want to hear from you!  Share your expertise and experience with your child and our other campers this summer.  Please let me know what you do and what your availability would be to join us at camp, so we can put you on our calendar as a guest speaker.  Email Laura
