Ever HUG an Alpaca?
These
smiling campers were part of
our Kid's Summer Camp
and choose Animal Camp as
their specialty. They
learned pet care by taking
care of our animals and pets
at camp. They also learned
about being a responsible
pet owner by visiting a
nearby animal rescue shelter
called
"Tiger Bunny Acres".
Besides hugging alpacas,
they got to collect chicken
eggs right from under the
chicken, feed tortuous, and
pick up peacock feathers.
There were over a hundred
animals at the farm. They
learned how the animals were
rescued and which kind of
animals did not make good
pets. Overall animal camp
was a big hit!

TREE Climbing was a hit
at
ME and MY MOM Weekend!
Smiling faces, excited
squeals, and muddy toes made
up this great weekend!
The weather hung in there
for us and we had an awesome
time. Mom's, grandma's, and
aunt's wandered from
activity to activity
laughing along with the
kids, relaxing on the beach,
and singing around the
campfire. We had a
wonderful group of families
who made it a special
weekend.

wonderful review of the Me &
My Mom Weekend from the

Giant Moth WOW's
Campers!
Take a look at this!
Jeanne our Committee
Chairperson came rushing
over to tell us about this
incredible find! We later
identified it as a Cecropia
Moth the largest moth found
in North America. This is
the first sighting of one at
camp! They usually only
come out at night and they
live for two weeks as adults
so sightings are rare.
These two were caught out in
daylight because they were
mating. We moved them to an
aquarium in the Nature Yurt
and the female laid her
eggs! In two weeks they
will hatch and as the
caterpillars grow we will be
able to watch them go
through their many stages as
caterpillars and in late
summer spin their cocoons.

incredible moths!

Bottled Water a Growing
Environmental Problem!
Camp
Water VS Bottled Water!
Check out our taste test
results!
In a recent taste test at
camp, we chilled camp water
and let it stand for 24
hours. In the taste test
our guests insisted that our
chilled camp water was
bottled water! YEP, they
did.
Click here to find out the
secret to good tasting camp
water and more information
about the environmental
impact of bottles!
