Honey Bees invade
Pete's House!
Hawkeye Rescues our
Tree Climbing Program...
Petie the wonder squirrel
homeless!
Have you heard the story of
"PETIE"the wonderful little
trained squirrel who helps us
get our ropes up in the trees in
our Technical Tree Climbing
Program? He had strangers move
into his house! Our tree
climbing staff put the house for
Pete up in the top of our tree
so he could move in and hang out
with us, but low and behold a
whole swarm of Honey Bees moved
in instead! They were not real
happy about us climbing their
tree so Tom Zavata, "Hawkeye"
our adventure programmer lowered
Pete's house bees and all to the
ground.
Amazingly Tom did not get
stung! When their
home was threatened
the bees all gorged on the honey
and headed out. They couldn't
sting Tom because once they are
full of honey they can't bend
their abdomen to get the stinger
in the right position! They
moved on to a new home and Tom
and his family spun the last bit
of honey for tasting and melted
the honey comb into wax.
