Family Summer Bash!
July 3 - 5, 2009
Celebrate with Family & Friends this weekend! Great New
Activities!
Join us for our first 4th of July Weekend! See fireworks over
the lake, join our Camp Cavell Parade, come down for a 4th of
July picnic on the beach and be part of our special Flag
Ceremony! We will have a beach party that will include a
Mini-Olympics with water sports too! How about a mud hike!
A Wonderful Place to Spend the Forth in the North! We do the
cooking, we do the dishes, we provide the fun! Make it a family
reunion!

YWCA CAMP CAVELL
YWCA Camp Programs are
Celebrating 95 years in Camping!
Follow along as we collect stories, scan pictures, and look for
camp memorabilia.
Our picture files include images from Camp Norcom, Camp Talahi,
Grace Cottages, and Camp Cavell. All were camps operated in
the past by the YWCA of Metro Detroit. These YWCA images were
donated to the Burton Historical Library by the YWCA in the
1970's and they allowed us to scan them for our collection. So
far we have scanned and photocopied 350 pictures and pieces of
information.
If you can add to our collection or help just let us know! We
are also looking for the words and tunes to old camp songs!
